The Butterfly Suite was inspired by a picture book (Michael Ende, Der Drache und der Schmetterling).

Claudia Nauheim (*1970), has taught recorder for more than 17 years. After obtaining a teaching diploma she went to Basle where she studied historical performance practice at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis. It was here that she dedicated herself intensively to the study of musical notation, particularly of the Middle Ages, including the Ars Subtilior with Karin Paulsmeier, along with historical improvisation with Richard Erig. Since this time, her own particular interests lie in the period arrangement, especially the Italian diminution. Since 2005 she holds a teaching position for historical notation practice at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater „Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy“ Leipzig.
